Our journey into biblical justice began with an undergrad in law and government, leading to a master's in law, and deepening our understanding through
a doctoral program at Biola University.
Our journey into the heart of biblical justice began with foundational studies in law and government during my undergraduate years, a period that shaped my academic and professional pursuits. Shortly after graduation, two surprising worlds collided when I married my husband Mike, a union of east coast New Jersey meets west coast Californian. My professional journey continued with a master's degree in law, which deepened my understanding of legal principles and their implications for society. These academic and personal interests led me to international missions, pro bono legal aid, government research, and eventually to the doctoral program at Biola University, where my engagement with a transformative perspective on justice continues.
Inspired by my doctorate, I've delved deeply into the concept of the Imago Dei—the Image of God in every human—and its profound implications for biblical justice. I've learned that God is inherently a God of justice, a truth that even children intuitively understand through their acute sense of fairness. This innate desire for justice, implanted by God Himself, contrasts starkly with the way sin has marred and distorted God's good intentions for humanity, leading to injustices that pervade our world.
My studies and reflections brought me to a crucial realization: caring for the well-being of the orphan, the widow, the voiceless, the under-represented, the under-served, and the ignored are clearly abhorrent to Father God. Biblical justice is the seeking to bring all aspects of life under the authority of God's Word, not simply as a noble cause but as a divinely loving mandate. This realization birthed a commitment to promote what we have intentionally named "Biblical Justice"—a term meticulously chosen to differentiate from the heavily laden "social justice" and to underscore our foundation on a biblical theology of justice that spans both the Old and New Testaments.
It is also our aim to diffuse misconceptions about biblical justice and to foster a community deeply rooted and centered in God's Word, dedicated to enacting His justice in every corner of society.
This narrative, our origin story, is more than a history. We are declaring our ongoing commitment to embody and advocate for biblical justice principles, informed by our academic journeys, personal experiences, and, most importantly, our faith.
